VVT Zone Controller 3V Control System

The VVT Zone Controller is a component of Carrier’s 3V Control System and is used to provide zone level temperature and air quality control for Variable Volume and Temperature Applications. The VVT zone controller can be operated and configured through the Carrier communicating network with the System Pilot user interface.

Pressure‑Independent VAV Control

Provides precise pressure‑independent airflow control using advanced PID algorithms, ensuring stable and accurate zone performance.

High‑Speed CCN Connectivity

Supports Carrier Comfort Network (CCN) communication with high‑speed data transfer, allowing coordination of up to 128 zones on a single bus segment.

Integrated Actuator Design

Features a factory‑preassembled actuator that mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, simplifying installation and reducing field labor.

Fast Commissioning & Self‑Calibration

Includes automatic airflow transducer self‑calibration and tools for quick commissioning and balancing.

Control & Performance

Provides pressure‑independent (VAV) control for zone terminals.
Uses Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control for accurate airflow regulation.
Supports terminals up to 9000 CFM or 3.4 sq. ft. primary air inlet area.
Maintains consistent airflow and zone comfort across varying system pressures.

Heating & Zone Functions

Supports auxiliary heating control for:
Modulating (floating) hot water
Single‑position hot water
Single or two‑stage electric heat
Two‑stage zone electric heat
Zone perimeter heat
Provides terminal fan control where applicable.

Commissioning & Calibration

Includes automatic airflow transducer self‑calibration.
Designed for quick and easy commissioning and balancing.
Provides easy access to airflow sensor pneumatic connections.

Sensors & Inputs

Integrated supply air temperature sensor
Remote occupancy contact input for a field‑supplied occupancy sensor
Supports zone humidity control (dehumidification) with a field‑installed humidity sensor
Supports local setpoint adjustment with a field‑installed temperature sensor (with temperature offset)
